Almost BOGO | Rehearsal Dinner + Welcome Party

Mindy and I have been planning weddings for 20 years, but there’s only one both of us wish we could “do over.”  Our own!  That’s a story… or should i say “saga” … for another time.  On the upside, it helped us be better at what we do.  Pro Tip:  If you’re planning a wedding right now, ask recently married couples what they would have done different.  100% it will make your party better than ours!

A super common tale we hear from couples after their wedding is how much time it took to host their guests on their wedding day.  All the hugs with ”thank you for coming” on repeat!   You 100% want to do this.  But when these couples post “what they wish they would have done different” after their honeymoon, here’s what they share:

— I would’ve spent more time on the  dance floor.

— I didn’t get any pictures in the photobooth.

— We didn’t even have time to eat!

— I just got married and I hardly saw my new husband/wife!

So how do you give all the hugs, eat the food you paid for, and still kill it on the dance floor?

A few couples we’re working with this year are doing it right!   They’re hosting a welcome party — actually more of a welcome cocktail hour — right after their rehearsal dinner.  In the same space.  Using the same bar.  The same decor.  Wearing the same outfit.  All of which keeps their budget in check with no dance floor calling your name! There’s just you and your people who just traveled in and can’t wait to see you!  Tell them how much you love them Friday, so you can spend more time partying with them Saturday.  I love everything about this.

We launched The Foyer, our new intimate wedding venue in Grand Rapids, so we could also do rehearsal dinners and help with other great ideas just like this!  Record Box Loft is also a perfect spot for your smaller event in Battle Creek.
